Irene Dolling
Irene Dölling (born December 23, 1942 in Leicester ) is a German sociologist and professor emeritus of women's studies since 2008 .
Life
Irene Dölling studied from 1961 to 1966 at the Humboldt University in Berlin , where she passed the diploma in philosophy and the state examination in library science in 1966 . After her doctorate and habilitation , she was appointed professor of cultural theory in 1985 . Until 1994 Irene Dölling worked with brief interruptions at the Institute for Cultural Studies at Berlin's Humboldt University.
In 1989, Dölling co-founded the Center for Interdisciplinary Women's Research (ZIF) at the Humboldt University and became its first academic director.
From 1994 until her retirement in 2008, Irene Dölling held a professorship for women's studies at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Potsdam .
