Irene Kohl

Irene Kohl (* 1894 in Kempten (Allgäu) ; † 1990 in Munich ) was a German actress and writer .

Life

Irene Kohl had worked as an actress at the Bavarian State Theater in Munich since the mid-1930s . She was best known for her embodiment of the female figures in the plays by Ludwig Thoma . Kohl was also seen in the following films, among others: Marriage strike , In the shadow of the mountain , The heiress of the Rosenhof and The strange story of Kaspar from Brandner . In 1979, Irene Kohl starred as Aunt Theres in the film The Farmer.

In addition to her acting work, she took on the role of spokesperson for dialect roles at Bayerischer Rundfunk and wrote a number of audio clips. Together with the folk musician Toni Goth , she designed an “Advent Singing” for the first time in 1955 on behalf of Wilhelm Diess for the Bavarian State Association for Home Care . Irene Kohl died in 1990 and was buried in Munich's Westfriedhof .
