Irene Wallner (* in Upper Austria ) is an Austrian opera singer ( alto ) and vocal teacher .

Life

Irene Wallner grew up in Perg and took singing lessons from Josef Waidhofer at the State Music School in Perg when she was young. After graduating from the upper secondary school in Perg, she studied instrumental and vocal pedagogy at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and graduated in 2005 with excellent results. At the same time she studied solo singing and also graduated in 2005.

Your teachers were u. a. Chamber singer Hilde Zadek , Gerhard Kahry , Margit Klaushofer , Andrea Mellis , Charles Spencer (lied class), Reto Nickler and Ivan Parík (opera class). She completed masterclasses with Kammersängerin Sylvia Geszty (1994), Helene Lazarska (1995/1996), Kammersänger Walter Berry (1996), Christian Elsner (1997/1998), Kammersängerin Deborah York (2009) and Anna Reynolds (2009).

She took acting lessons with Ingrid Sturm at the School of Theater Vienna and dance lessons in the fields of ballet , oriental dance and flamenco .

Her specializations in song and opera include Gustav Mahler , Julius Korngold and the German subject (especially Richard Wagner) with roles in operas by Christoph Willibald Gluck , Camille Saint-Saëns , Georges Bizet , Wilhelm Kienzl and Richard Wagner .

Public performances

Since 2002 she has worked mainly in Austria as an alto soloist a. a. at the Brucknerfest in Linz as well as in numerous concerts and recitals a. a. with the Lower Austrian Tonkünstler , the Vienna Young Philharmonic, the Pannonian Philharmonic , David Lutz and Charles Spencer.
