David Lutz

David Lutz (* 20th century in Pennsylvania , USA ) is an American pianist and song accompanist based in Austria .

Career and work

Lutz studied at the University of Delaware , where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Music degree from Boston University .

From 1978 to 2001 he worked as the head of a class for song and oratorio and vocal accompaniment at the Vienna Conservatory . From 1994 to 2001 he was visiting professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and since 2001 he has been full professor for vocal accompaniment there.

Concert tours have taken David Lutz through half of Europe , to the USA , Canada , Asia and to Israel and Syria . He was u. a. at the Salzburg Festival , the Wiener Festwochen , the KlangBogen Wien , the Schubertiade Vorarlberg , the Schubertiade initiated by Hermann Prey in Vienna, the Romantic Week at Grafenegg Castle , the Carinthian Summer , the Hellbrunn Festival and the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino , the Festival di Carpi, the Festival Musica da camera Old Jaffa ( Tel Aviv ), at the Dresden Music Festival and the Savonlinna Opera Festival in Finland .

As a song accompanist, he worked with numerous well-known artists, including Sona Ghazarian , Nicolai Gedda , Thomas Hampson , Robert Holl , Jewgenij Nesterenko , Lucia Popp , Hermann Prey , Helmut Wildhaber .

Lutz led masterclasses for song interpretation in many cities in Europe, in the USA , Canada, South Korea and Australia .
