Irig ( Serbian - Cyrillic Ириг ; Hungarian Ireg ; German (outdated): Irick ) is a small town and capital of the municipality of the same name in the Srem district in Vojvodina ( Serbia ). In 1991 the community had 11,696 inhabitants. Irig extends over an area of 226 km².
Attractions
The Serbian Orthodox Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary , built between 1757 and 1760, is located in Irig .
