Iris Ripsam

Iris Ripsam born Stiller (born April 27, 1959 in Stuttgart ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From June 2016 to October 2017 she was a member of the German Bundestag . Ripsam has been a member of the Stuttgart City Council since 1999 and was chairwoman of the CDU parliamentary group there from 2008 to 2009.

Life and work

After completing secondary school, Iris Ripsam completed an apprenticeship in the tax administration of the state of Baden-Württemberg. The trained financial economist moved to the State Office for Salaries and Supply in 1978. From 2009 to 2016 she worked in the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Social Affairs, and since 2016 she has been working in the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Iris Ripsam is Roman Catholic , has two grown children and lives in Stuttgart-Möhringen .

Political way

In 1977 she joined the CDU. From 1978 to 2008 Ripsam was the local chairman of the CDU in Stuttgart Fasanenhof and was a member of the district executive committee of the CDU in Stuttgart from 1996 to 2003. For 17 years - from 1998 to 2015 - she was a member of the state executive committee of the Baden-Württemberg Women's Union .

Ripsam has been a member of the Stuttgart City Council since 1999, and was spokesperson for education and school policy for ten years. From 2014 she has been the spokesperson for the youth welfare committee. Since she publicly refused to support the mayoral candidate Sebastian Turner , who is supported by the CDU, Ripsam has been in conflict with the top of the Stuttgart CDU.

Ripsam has been state chairwoman of the Union of Displaced Persons and Refugees (UdVF) in Baden-Württemberg since 2005 , she is a co-opted member of the state board of the Baden-Württemberg CDU , federal treasurer of the OMV and district chairwoman of the UdVF Stuttgart.

Member of Parliament

Iris Ripsam moved up to the 18th German Bundestag on June 8, 2016 when the previous MP Thomas Strobl renounced the state list of the CDU Baden-Württemberg .

She was a full member of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Consumer Protection and an alternate member of the Committee on European Union Affairs.

In the German Bundestag, Ripsam belonged to the group of expellees, the German-Egyptian parliamentary group and the group of women.

Before the 2017 federal election , Ripsam tried in vain to be a direct candidate for her party in the Böblingen federal constituency . Your 17th place on the state list was not enough for a return to the Bundestag.

Volunteering

Iris Ripsam is active as chairwoman of the Fasanerie Fasanenhof eV and as deputy chairwoman of the Swabian Women's Association. In addition, she has been a member of the board of directors for the social service of Catholic women for 15 years and was on the board of the Lebenshilfe e. V.

For many years she was chairwoman of the Ecumenical Nursing Association, in 2010 she was appointed to the board of trustees of the Catholic welfare station of the Filder care group. For her services she was awarded the New Year's Eve of the Catholic Church .
