Irja Lipasti

Irja Lipasti ( Irja Salli Maria Lipasti, later Sarnama; born September 27, 1905 in Seinäjoki , † April 18, 2000 in Riihimäki ) was a Finnish javelin thrower , shot putter , high jumper and sprinter .

At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, she came in tenth in the javelin throw and in 17th place in the high jump . In the 4 x 100 meter relay , she was eliminated in advance with the Finnish team.

In 1938 she was seventh in the javelin throw and eighth in the shot put at the European Athletics Championships in Vienna .
