Irmgard von Rössing (married von Salder ; born before 1430 ; died on March 28, 1475 in Braunschweig ) was a member of the Braunschweig landed gentry.

Life

Irmgard was a daughter of Dietrich von Rössing and his wife Berta (née von Rheden). She had other sisters, Kunigunde von Rössing became a nun in the Wöltingerode monastery . She grew up in the nearby Vienenburg , which was pledged to her father, and learned to read and write. At that time, members of the von Salder aristocratic family lived in the neighboring Burg Wiedelah , so that Irmgard was married in 1430 to Evert von Salder († February 9, 1453), who was from the line of Aschwin von Saldercame from. Since the marriage remained childless, Irmgard wrote a detailed will to regulate her estate after the husband's death. As a widow, she lived in Braunschweig Castle and, at the instigation of her relatives, carried out real estate transactions there to ensure that after her death the goods left to her as retirement provisions would fall to the still underage last scion of the Aschwinzweiges Ludolf von Salder. From 1464 she was significantly involved in the foundation for the Trinity altar in the new north aisle of the Blasiusstift . After her death, the collegiate vicar Johannes Sterneberg kept a detailed record of the household liquidation in order to follow the instructions from the will. Her circle of acquaintances included Braunschweig patricians as well as canons. She had income from the lands around Salder , brewed beer herself and owned a cow and pigs for self- sufficiency . She invested part of her fortune in foundations to protect the memory of her parents, her husband and herself. According to her wishes, she was buried in front of the Trinity altar, as attested by a gravestone set there.
