Robert "IronE" Singleton (* 1975 in Atlanta , Georgia ) is an American actor and comedian . He is known for his role as Theodore "T-Dog" Douglas in the series The Walking Dead .

Life

Singleton was born and raised in Atlanta. He graduated from Archer High School. He then studied drama and speech at the University of Georgia , while also playing football . Today he still lives in the town where he was born and has three children.

In 1996, Singleton was in front of the camera for the first time in the film Fled , where he played a small supporting role. He then had other appearances in the films Against Every Rule , Dead Wait , Somebodies and Riff . Subsequently, IronE played several guest roles in many different TV series, including One Tree Hill . Singleton first gained fame in 2009 in the Oscar-nominated film Blind Side , where he played the role of Alton . His breakthrough came in the horror series The Walking Dead . In this he played the role of T-Dog from 2010 to 2012. Most recently, he acted in a leading role as Tim in the film A Box for Rob .
