The Irwa ( Russian Ирва ) is a 174 km long left tributary of the Mesen in the Komi Republic in northwestern Russia .
The Irwa has its origin southwest of the Timan ridge . It flows first to the northeast, then turns to the west-northwest and changes its direction to the south shortly before its confluence with the upper reaches of the Mesen. The catchment area of the Irwa measures 2260 km² and borders on the Jolwa in the north and east . The Irwa has many bends in the river . The spring flood during the snowmelt accounts for the majority of the annual runoff.
