The Isábena ( Spanish : Río Isábena; Aragonese : río Isabana ; Catalan : Riu Isàvena ) is a river in Aragon in northeastern Spain . It drains over the Ésera , whose main left tributary it forms, the Cinca and the Segre to the Ebro . The river length should be around 60 km.

The Isábena rises at 2,400 m above sea level in the Es Sebollés basin between the Pico Gallinero and the Pico Cibollés in the Aragonese Pyrenees . It flows through several gorges, including the Congosto de Obarra, the Comarca Ribagorza . The river flows through the parishes of Beranuy , Isábena (Huesca) with the old bishopric Roda de Isábena in a south-south-west direction and then turns west until it reaches the Río Esera in Graus . The area of the upper Isábena is Catalan-speaking and belongs to the Franja de Aragón , that of the lower Aragonese- speaking with numerous gradual transitional forms.
