Jan Werle (born January 15, 1984 in Warnsveld ) is a Dutch chess master .

Life

Have won or occupied top places in several tournaments: 2. – 6. Place at the Open in Dieren (2001), 2nd – 4th Place at the harmony tournament in Groningen (2002), 2nd – 3rd place Place at the Corus-C tournament in Wijk aan Zee (2006) and 1st – 2nd. Place at the Essent Open in Hoogeveen (2006).

He has held the title of grandmaster since 2006 . He fulfilled the required standards in the Bundesliga 2002/03 , the Meester class 2004/05 and in January 2006 in the C group of the Corus tournament in Wijk aan Zee.

Werle has been married to the WGM Iozefina Paulet since 2019 .

National team

He played for the Dutch national team at the 2008 Chess Olympiad and the 2009 European Team Championship.

Werle played in the Dutch Meester class for the first time in the 1999/2000 season with the Schaakclub Groningen . Also in the 2001/02 season he played with Groningen in the Meester class, after which he moved to ZZICT / De Variant Breda , with whom he became Dutch team champions in 2003 , 2004 and 2005. Since 2005 he has been playing again for the Schaakclub Groningen , with which he won the Dutch team championship in 2007 . In the German 1st Bundesliga he played for the Solingen chess company from 2002 to 2011 , and has played for SV Werder Bremen since the 2015/16 season . In the British Four Nations Chess League he played for Bristol in the 2004/05 and 2006/07 seasons , in the Belgian Interclubs in the 2018/19 season for the Koninklijke Brugse Schaakkring .
