Jorden van Foreest (born April 30, 1999 in Utrecht ) is a Dutch chess player and chess grandmaster .
Jorden van Foreest comes from the original noble family Van Foreest and has the Jonkheer title . His great-great-grandfather Arnold Engelinus van Foreest won the Dutch individual championship three times. Jorden's younger brother Lucas van Foreest is also a grandmaster and his sister Machteld van Foreest won Dutch youth championships for girls.
In 2013, Jorden won the European Youth Championship in Budva in the U14 age group. He won the Dutch individual championship in Amsterdam in 2016 . At the individual championship in 2019, he was shared first with his younger brother Lucas, but lost in the match tie-break.
In Germany he played in the national chess league for SK Turm Emsdetten ( 2014/15 and 2015/16 ), DJK Aufwärts St. Josef Aachen ( 2016/17 and 2017/18 ), Schachgesellschaft Solingen ( 2019/20 ). In the Netherlands he played in the Meester class for Groninger Combinatie , SISSA Groningen and Kennemer Combinatie .
In 2018 he was part of the Dutch team at a chess Olympiad for the first time and scored five points from ten games.
His coaches were Geon Knol, Sipke Ernst and Sergey Tiviakov .
