Sipke Ernst (born January 8, 1979 in Dokkum ) is a Dutch chess master .

Life

Ernst grew up in Damwâld . In 1993 Ernst was the Dutch youth champion U14. In 1998 he qualified for the first time for the finals of the Dutch Adult Championship. He received the title of International Master in 1999. In 2000 he won in Lichfield and was tied for third in Hoogeveen . In 2001 he won in Groningen and came second (after Semjon Dwoiris ) in Dieren . In 2002 he finished fourth in the Dutch championship and took part in the Chess Olympiad in Bled for the first time for his home country . In the same year he finished second (behind the winner Shuhrat Safin ) in Dieren. In 2004 he was shared second (together with Magnus Carlsen ) at the C tournament in Wijk aan Zee . In 2005 and 2006 he won again in Groningen. With a score of 5.5 out of 7 and a rating performance of 2725 at the European Club Cup 2006 in Fügen , in which he took part with the chess company 1868-Alekhine Solingen , Ernst achieved his last grandmaster standard and was awarded the grandmaster title by FIDE in the same year .

Team chess

Sipke Ernst participated with the Dutch national team in the 2002 Chess Olympiad and the 2009 European Team Championship.

In the Dutch Meester class he played from 1995 to 1997 with Philidor Leeuwarden , from 2001 to 2008 with BIS Beamer Team and Homburg Apeldoorn , since 2008 he has played with the Schaakclub Groningen . In the German federal chess league Ernst played from 2004 to 2012 with the Solingen chess company , with which he also took part in the European Club Cup 2006 and achieved the best result on the second board, since 2012 he has played for Hamburger SK . Ernst has been playing for the team of the Koninklijke Brugse Schaakkring in the Belgian Interclubs since 2014 .
