Benjamin Bok (born January 25, 1995 in Lelystad ) is a Dutch chess grandmaster .

Career

Bok quickly gained success at Dutch junior championships. In 2009 he achieved the FM title, followed in 2010 by the title of International Master (IM) . In the Dutch Meester class , Bok played for the Schaakclub Utrecht from 2009 to 2011 , for HMC Calder from 2011 to 2016 and in the 2016/17 season for the chess club "En Passant". In January 2014 he won the Tata Steel Chess Challengers tournament his last GM norm, so that he has since held the title of Grandmaster. In May 2014, his rating rose for the first time over 2600 points. Bok played in the German Federal Chess League from 2009 to 2012 for SC Remagen , from 2013 to 2015 for SF Katernberg and in season 2017/18 for the Schachgesellschaft Solingen . in the Belgian Inter clubs Bok played 2010-2012 for the KSK 47 Eynatten , with whom he in 2011 was Belgian team champion, since 2012 he is one of the team of L'Echiquier Amaytois on with which he won the Belgian team championship in 2015. In 2015, Bok won the CSC London Chess Classic FIDE Open with 8 points from 9 rounds. In 2016, Bok was part of the Dutch team at the Chess Olympics piade 2016 in Baku. By placing 15 at a tournament in Minsk , Bok qualified for the World Cup , which took place in Tbilisi in September 2017 . There he was eliminated in the first round with 0: 2 against the Russian Vladislav Artemjew .
