Yge Visser (born July 9, 1963 in Sneek ) is a Dutch chess master .

Life

Visser learned the game of chess from his father, who was chairman of the Frisian Chess Association. 1981 Visser won the championship of the US state Idaho . Between 1983 and 2001 he won the Friesland championship eight times , including 1983 with 8.5 points from 9 games. In 1989 he won the ECI-open in Bruges , in 1999 he was shared third (with Klaus Bischoff and Kostjantyn Lerner ) in Recklinghausen , and in 2000 in Hoogeveen (after Wladimir Jepischin and Semjon Dwoiris ) also third. In the same year he became an international master . In 2002 he won in Sankt Pölten , in 2004 he was split first in Groningen (together with Friso Nijboer , John van der Wiel and Jurij Kusubow ) and achieved his first grandmaster norm. At the Dutch Team Championships 2004/05 and 2005/06 Visser got two more grandmaster norms, whereupon FIDE 2006 awarded him the grandmaster title.

He is listed as inactive at FIDE, as he did not play an Elo-rated game after the Houtje Hoofd Helder Open in Boxtel in June 2011 .

In the Dutch Meester class , Visser played for Philidor Leeuwarden in the 1996/97 season , from 1998 to 2000, 2001 to 2003 and 2004 to 2009 for the Schaakclub Groningen , with which he became Dutch team champion in 2007 . In the German 1st Bundesliga he had a job at SV Wattenscheid in the 2005/06 season .
