Dimitri Reinderman (born August 12, 1972 in Hoorn ) is a Dutch chess player and coach who has held the title of Grand Master since 1998 .

With the Dutch national team he took part as a player in the European team championship in 1999 in Batumi , where he received an individual gold medal for his result of 6 points from 8 games (+4 = 4 −0) as the best reserve player with an Elo rating of 2674 . Reinderman was the Dutch national coach of the female youth national team. In 2008 he was the national coach of South Africa in preparation for and during the 2008 Chess Olympiad .

In 1991 he finished second in the Dutch U18 championship in Nijmegen . At the U20 European Championship at the turn of the year 1991/92 in Terneuzen-Sas van Gent , he achieved a shared 2nd – 3rd. 3rd place at the U20 Junior World Championship in Buenos Aires in 1992 . He was also third at the 1995 U26 World Cup in Leeuwarden . In July 2007 he won the chess tournament in Leiden and in November 2007 the 12th Cultural Village tournament in Wijk aan Zee . At the Dutch individual championship in April 2008, he finished second behind Jan Smeets . In August 2008 he won the Reinderman Open in Cape Town , which was held in his honor, and in August 2009 he won the BDO tournament in Haarlem, 1.5 points ahead of Friso Nijboer . In August 2012 he won the HZ Chess Tournament in Vlissingen ahead of Gil Popilski . He won the Dutch individual championship for the first time in July 2013 in Amsterdam .

In Germany he plays for SG Porz , with whom he became German team champion in 1999 . In the Netherlands he played for different teams: for Philidor Leeuwarden , Van Berkel / BSG , Magnus / BSG , VastNed Rotterdam , SO Rotterdam , Schrijvers Rotterdam , Ricoh Purmerend , En Passant Bunschoten-Spakenburg , Pathena Rotterdam and Caissa Amsterdam . With Bunschoten-Spakenburg he became Dutch team champion in the 2013/14 season . In Belgium, Reinderman plays for Cercle Royal des Echecs de Liège et Echiquier Liègeois .

Magic: The Gathering

Dimitri Reinderman is also a professional player in the trading card game Magic: The Gathering , where he qualified for the Pro Tour and finished sixth at the 2006 Grand Prix in Hasselt . As of January 26, 2012, he has 13 Lifetime Pro Points.
