Isabelle Nélisse

Isabelle Nélisse (born December 3, 2003 in Windsor , Ontario ) is a Canadian actress .

Life

Isabelle Nélisse was born to a teacher in Windsor, Canada and is of French-Canadian descent. She is the younger sister of the Canadian actress Sophie Nélisse and also has an older brother.

She made her acting debut in 2011 at the age of eight on the Canadian television series Mirador . However, she only became known to a wider international public two years later through the horror film Mama in her role as Lilly, who survived for several years in a secluded hut together with her older sister Victoria, played by Megan Charpentier . The film was also shot in 2011 but wasn't released until early 2013. In 2014 she was hired for roles in the Canadian drama Mommy and for three episodes in the American television series The Strain .

In 2018, she can be seen in the abuse drama The Tale, among others, alongside Laura Dern and Jason Ritter . The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2018.
