Deadly accident

Isacco Mariani had a serious accident on July 11, 1925 in training for the Circuito del Lario race. He collided head-on with Primo Moretti's Moto Guzzi on the 36-kilometer circuit near Lake Como with his 350cc Sunbeam near Onno, which today belongs to Oliveto Lario . This was on the way from the opposite direction towards the boxes , which were in Visino Valbrona . Since training runs were still taking place on open roads at that time, such accidents were not uncommon.

Mariani was taken to the hospital in Asso, where he died of serious injuries that same day at the age of 33.

In his honor a memorial was erected in Onno in 1926 .
