Isidor Vollnhals

Isidor Vollnhals (born July 2, 1949 in Rieshofen ) was vicar general of the diocese of Eichstätt from 2010 to 2019 .

Life

Isidor Vollnhals comes from Rieshofen in the municipality of Walting in the Eichstätt district . He studied philosophy and theology in Eichstätt and Regensburg . Since 1969 he has been a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Alcimonia Eichstätt in the CV . On June 30, 1974, Bishop Alois Brems ordained him priest for the diocese of Eichstätt - the ordination was due to the renovation of the cathedral in the Ingolstadt Minster.

Isidor Vollnhals was initially a chaplain in Nuremberg, parish Maria am Hauch, Deining and Neumarkt / St. John . From 1978 to 1984 he was chaplain in the Münster parish of Ingolstadt and city youth pastor. In 1984 he was released from service in the military chaplaincy and served as a military pastor in Bad Reichenhall for eight years . In 1992 the Bishop of Eichstätt appointed him minister pastor in Ingolstadt. Vollnhals headed the parish for 18 years. From 1998 to 2004 he was also dean of the Ingolstadt dean's office. In 2004 he also took over the parish of St. Moritz. As pastor of the two Ingolstadt inner city parishes, Isidor Vollnhals was also responsible for the city pastoral care in Ingolstadt.

On August 1, 2010 Vollnhals was appointed vicar general of the diocese of Eichstätt as successor to Johann Limbacher by diocesan bishop Gregor Maria Hanke . In 2011, as provost, he became chairman of the Eichstätter cathedral chapter , to which he has been a member since 2010. In July 2019 he was retired from the office of Vicar General, which he gave up on September 1st of the same year for reasons of age.
