Johann Limbacher
Johann Josef Limbacher (born February 11, 1940 in Treuchtlingen ) was vicar general of the diocese of Eichstätt from 1989 to 2010 .
Life
Johann Limbacher was ordained priest in 1965 and was then initially chaplain in Heilsbronn , Pleinfeld and Roth . From 1981 he was pastor of the court church in Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate . From 1985 to 1988 he was Dean of the Neumarkt Dean's Office. In 1988 he became a member of the Eichstätter cathedral chapter , which he assumed chairmanship as cathedral provost in 1997.
Bishop Karl Braun appointed him vicar general of the Eichstätt diocese on October 1, 1989, and thus successor to Josef Pfeiffer . The bishops Walter Mixa and Gregor Maria Hanke also appointed him their vicar general. During the vacancy of the diocese in 2005/2006, he was diocesan administrator . He was succeeded on August 1, 2010 by Isidor Vollnhals .
