Robert Barth (historian)

Robert Barth (born March 15, 1952 ) is a Swiss historian , Germanist and professor of library science at the HTW Chur .

Career

From 1968 to 1973 Barth attended the Graubünden teachers' seminar in Chur . In 1973 he began studying general history, modern German literature, church history and modern French literature at the University of Zurich . From 1978 to 1984 he was assistant and senior assistant at the university's theological faculty, from which he also received his doctorate in 1981. Between 1984 and 1987 he was adjunct at the Winterthur City Library , and in 1987 and 1988 he was head of the Zurich-Irchel main library. From 1988 to 2005 he was director of the City and University Library of Bern. In 1991 he became an honorary professor at the University of Bern . From 2005 until his retirement in 2012 he was professor for library science at the HTW Chur.
