Isidoro Bianchi (painter)

Isidoro Bianchi (born July 20, 1581 in Campione d'Italia , † December 11, 1662 ibid) was an Italian painter and plasterer .

Life

Isidoro Bianchi was born the son of Bernardino Bianchi and his wife Fiorbellina Ferrari in Campione d'Italia, which at that time was under the rule of the Sant'Ambrogio monastery in Milan . All that is known about his early years is that he visited Prague in 1605 .

From 1617 Bianchi also worked in Turin . 1623 began his collaboration with Pier Francesco Mazzuchelli , called Il Morazzone , which was groundbreaking for his further artistic development. After Mazzuchelli's death in 1626, Bianchi continued his work in the Castello di Rivoli and completed it in 1643, with the help of his sons Pompeo and Francesco, who worked as painters and plasterers in his studio. In 1631 he was awarded the title of court painter by Viktor Amadeus I of Savoy , and in 1634 he was knighted.

From 1639 Bianchi finally settled in Campione and from then on carried out numerous painting works in Lombardy .

He died in his hometown.
