Ismail Ould Bedde Ould Cheikh Sidiya

Ismail Ould Bedde Ould Cheikh Sidiya ( Arabic إسماعيل ولد بده ولد الشيخ سيديا; * March 17, 1961 in Boutilimit ) is a Mauritanian politician who was the 15th Mauritanian Prime Minister from August 5, 2019 to August 6, 2020 He is one of the founding members of the ruling Union pour la République .

Life

Ismail Ould Bedde Ould Cheikh Sidiya was born in Boutilimit and holds an engineering degree from the École Centrale Paris . Ould Cheikh Sidiya began his career as Head of the Studies and Programming Bureau at Société Nationale Industrielle et Minière (SNIM), a state-owned mining company. He then worked in other positions for the government of Mauritania. From 2009 to 2014 he was national minister for housing, urban planning and regional development. After that time he did not have a specific position, but continued to work for his political party.

On August 3, 2019, Ould Cheikh Sidiya was appointed Mauritanian Prime Minister by President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani and took office two days later.
