Isolde Sternitzky

Isolde Sternitzky (born June 8, 1938 - † February 16, 2019 ) was a German homeland researcher and author who had dedicated herself to the research, preservation and renewal of the traditional costume worn in the Vogtland .

Life

Sternitzky was VEB Plauener women's clothing in Plauen as a master tailor working. In 1993/94 she began her research on Vogtland costumes in the Society for Employment Promotion, Employment and Structural Development (ABS Textil GmbH Plauen). In addition, she was co-founder and from 1998 to 2016 deputy chairwoman of the 1st Trachtenverein Vogtland eV In April 2014 she published her work Tracht and via the Dresden Thelem University Press - with expert advice and support from the folklorist Manfred Seifert from the Institute for Saxon History and Folklore Clothing in Vogtland: Made from chests and old writings mainly from the 19th century and was honored with 2nd place in the Saxon State Prize for Local Research . Sternitzky died on February 16, 2019 at the age of 80.
