István Busa (born May 31, 1961 in Kecskemét ) is a former Hungarian foil fencer .

successes

István Busa won the bronze medal at the World Championships with the team in 1987 in Lausanne . In 1991 he became European champion in both individual and team competitions in Vienna . He twice took part in the Olympic Games : in 1988 he lost in the team competition in Seoul in the semifinals after an 8-8 draw due to the poorer hit ratio against the Soviet Union . In the battle for third place, the Hungarian team prevailed 9: 5 against the GDR team , so that Busa received the bronze medal together with Zsolt Érsek , Róbert Gátai , István Szelei and Pál Szekeres . At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona he finished 27th in the singles, with the team he just missed another medal in fourth.
