He also worked as a boxer and reached the finals of the Italian junior championships in his weight class. Due to his physical appearance, he received the offer to work as a stuntman with Quo vadis? to work and thus came into contact with the film business. As early as 1950 he became a production assistant, continued working as a stuntman and focused on short films. In 1954 he became the production manager of a large number of feature films , including several sandal films . In the same year he married Maria Laura Spano , with whom he stayed together until his death and had three children.

La rivolta dei gladiatori made Zingarelli's debut as executive producer in 1958; he financed the film together with some partners; the following year he produced independently with Le legioni di Cleopatra and the following; six years later he founded his own production company with which he made over 50 films. In 1966, when he founded Delta Film, he also took care of the distribution of his own films. The company developed a new system of celluloid roll reproduction so that he could supply the cinemas in his home country with a large number of copies.

1969 began a lucrative partnership with the actor duo Terence Hill / Bud Spencer , which lasted a few films and which allowed him to retire soon: In 1973 Zingarelli acquired the Macìe estate , including farm and wineries, near Castellina in Chianti . He returned from his retirement to the film business for only two more films. He also wrote the script for some of his films; he also (co-) directed three of them.
