Ivan Cvitković

Ivan Cvitković (born May 5, 1945 in Mostar , Yugoslavia ) is a Bosnian sociologist of religion .

Life

Ivan Cvitković studied sociology at the University of Sarajevo , followed by postgraduate studies at the University of Zagreb . In 1978 he received his doctorate from the University of Ljubljana with a thesis on Marxist thought and religion .

From 1986 he was associate professor, from 1989 full professor for sociology of religion at the University of Sarajevo. He became a corresponding member in 2008 and a full member in 2012 of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia-Herzegovina .
