Ivan Kovačec (born June 27, 1988 in Zagreb ) is a Croatian football player on the position of a winger .

Career

Ivan Kovačec moved to Austria at the age of 20 to ASV Deutsch Tschantschendorf , six months later to SV St. Michael . After further stations in Croatia, he finally came to SV Stegersbach in 2010 , where he was top scorer in 2012 with 25 goals. In summer 2012 he moved to FC Pasching . He won the ÖFB Cup with FC Pasching when they defeated SK Rapid Vienna , FC Red Bull Salzburg and in the final FK Austria Vienna .

In summer 2013 he moved to the Red Bull farm team FC Liefering in the first league and was awarded to LASK Linz in winter . With the Linzers he won the championship in the Regionalliga Mitte and rose to the first division. In the summer of 2014, there were no more plans with him at FC Liefering. Therefore he moved to Vorarlberg to be promoted to the Bundesliga SCR Altach . From 2015 to 2018 he played in South Korea for Ulsan Hyundai and FC Seoul .

From October 2018 on, the striker played for NK Rudeš in his home country for four months before joining the Greek second division team Panachaiki . He left Panachaiki after the 2018/19 season.

In September 2019 he returned to Austria and moved to the second division club SV Ried , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2020. For Ried he made 14 appearances in the second division. At the end of the season he was promoted to the Bundesliga with the club. After the ascent he left Ried again.
