Ivan Tors

Ivan Tors (actually Ivan Törzs ) (born June 12, 1916 in Budapest , Hungary , † June 4, 1983 in Mato Grosso , Brazil ) was an author , animal trainer and producer of films and radio programs . His specialties were family and animal friendly fabrics such as Daktari and Flipper .

The author wrote numerous pieces in Hungary before he emigrated to the USA due to the Second World War . In the United States, he worked on a number of science fiction films based on scientific facts, such as: B. Magnetic Monster (1951) directed by Curt Siodmak with Richard Carlson , Gog (1954) and R 3 overdue (1954). This was followed by collaboration on the second season of the Science Fiction Theater series from 1955 to 1957. In the 1960s, he not only increasingly turned to youth films , he was also known for his underwater work since Flipper (1963) at the latest , so that he was with James -Bond-Film Feuerball acted in an advisory capacity for the diving scenes.

Ivan Tors was married to actress Constance Dowling from 1955 until her death in 1969 . Tors died 14 years later while filming a Brazilian television series at the age of 66.
