Ivana Mužarić (born June 9, 1996 ) is a Croatian athlete who specializes in the shot put and discus throw .

Career

On July 21, 2012, she took part in the Croatian championships for the first time in Rijeka and started in the discus throw . With a width of 40.28 meters, it took fifth place. A year later she again took part in the Croatian championships and completed the discus throwing competition on June 8, 2013, one day before her 17th birthday. In the absence of Sandra Perković , who has not participated in Croatian championships since 2012, she won the competition with a width of 44.42 meters. On her birthday, she also won the shot put with a width of 13.05 meters. At the Youth World Championships in Donetsk , she competed in both disciplines, but could not qualify for the final. In the discus throw she was also allowed to start at the Junior European Championships in Rieti , but did not make it into the final round there either.

On July 12, 2014 she missed defending her title in discus throwing in Varaždin with a distance of 46.06 and had to be content with the runner-up title behind Tijana Frajtić . On February 8, 2015, she started at the Croatian Junior Indoor Championships and set a new personal best with a width of 14.45 meters. In addition, she secured the title with the distance. After this junior title, she also won the Croatian U23 indoor championship title. In addition, on March 1st, 2015 in Rijeka , she secured the Croatian indoor championship title in this discipline.

On July 25, 2015, with a width of 47.07 meters, she secured the Croatian championship title in the discus throw for the second time. A day later, like two years ago, she secured the championship title in the shot put. She won the competition with a width of only 12.85 meters. At the European Junior Championships in Eskilstuna , Sweden , she was eliminated in the shot put without a valid attempt in the qualification, but in the discus throw she reached the final and finished eighth there with 47.81 m. After not taking part in the Croatian championships in 2016, she won the Croatian championship title in discus for the third time on July 8, 2017 . In the shot put she had to be content with the runner-up title behind Marija Toly . With the discus she entered the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz , but did not reach the final.

She is a student at Auburn University .
