Career

Pertile made his debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup on December 30, 1986 as part of the Four Hills Tournament 1986/87 in Oberstdorf . But after he only landed in the back of the tour, he then jumped only nationally for three more years and only belonged to the Italian World Cup squad again in 1990. In his first competition on February 16, 1990, he was able to jump into the top ten for the first time with 4th place on his home hill in Predazzo and win his first World Cup points. It was also the highest individual placement in the World Cup. In the Finnish Lahti two weeks later he won again World Cup points with space 12th In the team competition a day later, which was not part of the official World Cup calendar, he finished second with the team and was on the podium for the first time. Shortly afterwards he won the silver medal at the Italian championship. He repeated this success a year later, before jumping in 23rd place on the normal hill and 43rd on the large hill at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1991 in Val di Fiemme . In the World Cup he remained without winning points for a long time. Despite this, he was part of the Italian squad for the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville . There he jumped from the normal hill to the 52nd and from the large hill to the 38th place. In the team competition, he reached 13th place together with Roberto Cecon and Ivan Lunardi . Shortly after the games he was able to win the bronze medal behind Ivan Lunardi and Carlo Pinzani at the Italian championship . At the Ski Flying World Championships in Harrachov in 1992 , Pertile flew to 22nd place. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1993 in Sweden's Falun he reached the 22nd place on the normal hill the 46th and on the large hill. He was also part of the squad at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer and jumped from the normal hill to 31st and from the large hill to 32nd place. In the team competition he finished eighth together with Roberto Cecon, Ivan Lunardi and Andrea Cecon . At the Italian Championships in 1994 he won bronze again shortly afterwards. The ski flying world championship in 1994 in Planica , Slovenia, finished Pertile in 17th place. A week later he managed to win two World Cup points for the first time in Thunder Bay with 14th place. Since the new World Cup points system was established for the 1994/95 season , Pertile was able to land within the points ranks several times this season. However, there were no great successes, so that Pertile was used in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup . After he remained unsuccessful there too, he ended his active ski jumping career in 1997.

Since the end of his active ski jumping career, Pertile has been the Technical Director of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI).
