Ján Černaj

Ján Černaj (born 1948 ; died April 30, 2011 ) was a Slovak medalist .

Career

Ján Černaj was a graduate of the Škola úžitkového výtvarníctva, an arts and crafts school in Kremnica , which mainly teaches metalworking and medal art . In 1970 he became an employee of the Czechoslovak mint , the Mincovňa Kremnica . From 1989 to 1990 and from 1995 to 2010 he headed the studio there. He designed several Slovak special coins and with Pavel Károly the coins for 10, 20 and 50 cents of the Slovak euro coins issued since 2009 . In addition, he designed numerous medals as an employee of the Mincovňa Kremnica and as a freelance artist.
