Hunters & Collectors was a German web video format that the public offer radio operated and UFA Lab together with Frontal21 was produced. From autumn 2018, videos from Jäger & Collector were no longer available on YouTube , where videos had previously been published. Videos were still published in funk's own media library as well as on Facebook and Instagram .
The format was discontinued at the end of 2019. The reach was mainly achieved through Facebook videos, but this platform has become "generally too old for the intended target group". They want to break new ground in the conception of investigative formats in the future and have already planned staff and budget.
reception
The Jäger & Collector videos have been awarded several prizes for their journalistic performance. Since the videos also deal with right-wing extremist tendencies, they were exposed to massive incitement from right-wing extremists. In a contribution by Bayerischer Rundfunk , it was found that the black , homosexual , feminist and anti-racist editor Tarik Tesfu had become a projection screen on social media for all those who are “ xenophobic , racist , homophobic , Islamophobic or generally inhuman”.
