Józef Pawlusiak (born September 16, 1956 in Wilkowice ) is a former Polish Nordic combined skier . He was Polish champion twice and took part in the 1980 Winter Olympics.

Career

Józef Pawlusiak came from a winter sports family and was the second youngest of five siblings, who were all successful in Nordic skiing for Poland. His sister Anna Pawlusiak was a successful cross-country skier, his brothers Stanisław and Tadeusz were ski jumpers. Brother Peter Pawlusiak was a trainer in Zakopane and took part in the 1994 Winter Olympics in this capacity . Like his siblings, he was most recently a member of the BBTS Włókniarz Bielsko-Biała association .

At the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid , he was 17th in the individual combination. After jumping he was still in tenth place, but after rank 24 in cross-country skiing, he fell back to 17th place. A little later he won his first national title at the Polish championships. On December 29, 1983, Pawlusiak started once in the Nordic Combined World Cup , but after finishing 41st in Oberwiesenthal he did not score any points.

In 1981 and 1982 Pawlusiak won bronze three times at the Polish championships in ski jumping. In 1984 he won his second silver medal in the combination. After his active career, Pawlusiak was active as a trainer and technical delegate.
