József Csatári

József Csatári [ ˈjoːʒɛf ˈtʃɒtaːri ] (born December 17, 1943 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian wrestler .

Career

József Csatári started wrestling at Kinizsi Húsos in 1958 . Through diligent training he has already won Hungarian championships in the youth and junior division. In 1965 he was therefore delegated to Ferencváros Budapest . There Andor Mángó became his coach. In 1963, only 20 years old, he was used for the first time in an international championship. He wrestled both in Greco-Roman and in free style. In the free style in the light heavyweight and heavyweight classes, in the Greco-Roman style mostly in the super heavyweight class. He won a total of six medals, including two Olympic bronze medals ( 1968 and 1972 ) and achieved many good placements.

After finishing his career as an active wrestler, he studied at a technical college and from 1976 worked in the management of the Honvéd Budapest club .
