Jörg Bewersdorff (born February 1, 1958 in Neuwied ) is a German mathematician , non-fiction author and game developer.

Following his early Abitur at the Werner-Heisenberg-Gymnasium in Neuwied , Bewersdorff studied mathematics and computer science at the University of Bonn from 1975 , where he received his doctorate in 1985 with Günter Harder at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics with a thesis in which he was topological Methods ( fixed point theorem of Lefschetz ) applied in number theory ( a Lefschetz fixed point formula for Hecke operators ). He later worked as a mathematician in the playground equipment industry, where he is the managing director of Mega-Spielgeräte in Limburg an der Lahn , which has existed since 1988 and develops slot machine games. He is also the managing director of GeWeTe (money changing and pay machine) in Mechernich . He lives in Limburg.

Bewersdorff wrote three mathematical non-fiction books, which were also aimed at broader circles, in which he treated subjects of probability theory , game theory , combinatorial game theory , mathematical statistics and algebra ( Galois theory ). He has also written a book on object-oriented programming using the JavaScript programming language as an example and legal publications on the subject of gambling law . Two of his books have been translated into English, one also into Korean.
