Jörg Duda
Jörg Duda (born December 17, 1968 in Munich ) is a German composer and musician .
Live and act
Duda began training on various instruments as a child and wrote his first compositions at the age of nine. He was particularly influenced by the church music at the Basilica of the Holy Cross and Assumption of Mary in Scheyern with Karl-Heinz Söndermann. He received private organ and improvisation lessons from Harald Feller , with whom he later studied, as well as theory and composition lessons from Dieter Acker . During this time mainly chamber music works and church music were created, which were based on baroque and classicist models.
During his studies as a church musician with A-examination at the Musikhochschule Munich from 1988-92 he was a member of the Junge Kantorei München under his choir director and sponsor Roderich Kreile . This led to a change in his compositional style, which was expressed in sophisticated choral music. He has given concerts as an organist and worked as a répétiteur with the Bavarian Radio Choir and the Munich Philharmonic Choir .
In 1992 Jörg Duda studied composition with Peter Kiesewetter in Hanover and later with Dieter Acker in Munich, where he graduated in 1997 with a master class. Since 1998 Duda has been a full-time church musician at the parish church of the Assumption of Mary in the parish of St. Emmeram in Geisenfeld and was temporarily lecturer in music theory at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . Since 1992 he has dealt with Finnish music and culture and maintained a friendly collaboration with the poet Lassi Nummi . Since 2000 he has been playing his own compositions as well as improvisations as a concert organist in Finland.
Both of his tuba concerts have been performed by Andreas Hofmeir with various orchestras (since 2010). In 2013 Hofmeir u. A. for his recording of Jörg Duda's first tuba concerto the Echo Klassik Award. Hofmeir also commissioned numerous other works for or with tuba from Jörg Duda. The tone poem Tempora mutantur was commissioned in September 2016 with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra under Alexander Shelley .
Duda is a co-founder of the "Münchner Harmoniemusik" and the "Cumulus Piano Quintet".
