Jörg Haug

Jörg Haug (born December 11, 1937 in Ochsenberg , today Königsbronn ) is a German pedagogue and emeritus university professor for home and non-fiction .

Life

Through his father, a school principal, Haug came into contact with the ideas of the youth movement and reform pedagogy at an early stage , and he was also active in the boy scout movement in his youth . After graduating from high school in Stuttgart, he studied from 1957 to 1959 at what was then the Stuttgart Pedagogical Institute (with Gustav Wirsching, among others ) and then worked as a teacher until 1966. At the same time, he began studying folklore , pedagogy, philosophy and psychology at the University of Tübingen in 1962 , which he completed in 1968 with a doctorate on local history and folklore under Hermann Bausinger .

Back in school, Haug headed the one-class school in Rietheim (Münsingen) before taking over the management of the Gutenberg School in Reutlingen in 1971 as part of the school reform in Baden-Württemberg , the only “model elementary school” in the state at the time. After further years as rector in Bad Urach , school board member , seminar leader and advanced trainer at state academies as well as member of the curriculum commission 1977 material teaching , he was appointed professor at the Pedagogical University Weingarten for home and material teaching in 1991, where he taught until his retirement in 2001.
