Jörg Hindemith

Jörg Hindemith (* 1956 in Erfurt ) is a German singer , composer , consultant to other artists and music producer .

Life

Hindemith gained his first musical experience in a school band at the Humboldt School in Erfurt. He took singing lessons and played in various amateur bands at the same time.

Hindemith was discovered by Hartmut Schulze-Gerlach in his talent show Sprungbrett with the title Please, Please, Hanni , which was released as a single on Amiga in 1983 and sold 46,000 times. The album Jörg Hindemith was released in 1985 and sold 200,000 times. This was followed by numerous appearances on German television . His music was stylistically close to rock 'n' roll . Because of the swing of his hips and his style of music, he has been compared to Shakin Stevens and given the nickname "Zone Shaky".

With the political turning point in the GDR , the end came because it could not prevail on the market. He withdrew from public music life and in 1992 founded the artist consultancy and placement agency JWR Entertainment . In 1999 the JTconnection music production (JTC MP) followed with his friend Tommy Feiler . First productions, such as for Deutsche Post , laid the foundation for another focus of their activities. From then on they produced for commercial enterprises such as Vorwerk and the Thuringian Railway . In 2002, Hindemith and Feiler received the Herbert Roth Prize for the rock / classic production Two Worlds on behalf of the Erfurt Railway . In 2003, Kristin Link released the cover version Bei dir sein of the title Wild Cat Blues by Chris Barber . Hindemith had received approval from the original publisher to publish the hit with its own text and music.

Hindemith and Feiler published their own productions as JTconnection (JTC) and performed together. For the 2004 Biathlon World Championships they wrote, sang and produced the song We are on the Top . Both were also responsible for the opening ceremony of the world championships.

In 2008, Hindemith went on tour with his program Deutschland sucht Jörg Hindemith und Ich bin ein Ex-GDR pop singer . Today he promotes young musicians and writes musical revues for children.

Hindemith lives in Ingersleben today . He is distantly related to the composer Paul Hindemith .
