Jörg Menno Harms

Jörg Menno Harms (born September 13, 1939 in Plön , Holstein ) is a German manager and graduate engineer in electrical engineering .

Career

After school education and military service , Harms studied electrical engineering and communications engineering at what was then the Technical University of Stuttgart and is now the University of Stuttgart, where he graduated as an engineer. From 1993 to 2000 and again from 2002 to 2004 Harms was Chairman of the Management Board of Hewlett Packard GmbH . He later took over the chairmanship of the company's supervisory board. He is a member of the board of trustees of the Academy for Spoken Word in Stuttgart.

He is a member of the Corps Rhenania Stuttgart .

Awards

Harms received the Federal Cross of Merit in 2000 and the Baden-Württemberg Medal of Merit in 2004 . The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology awarded him the Heinrich Hertz visiting professorship in 2016.

family

He is the grandson of the economist Bernhard Harms . His brothers are the journalist Klaus B. Harms and the former Vice-President of the Administrative Court of Baden-Württemberg Karsten Harms , his nephew the editor-in-chief of t-online.de Florian Harms .
