Jörg Schürmann

Jörg Schürmann (born August 13, 1976 in Duisburg-Rheinhausen ) is a former German handball player .

The 1.98 m wide right-handed began in 1986 with the handball game at 04 Rheinhausen OSC in which the pivot player in 1993 with his brother Achim played in the first team. With the OSC, he was relegated from the Bundesliga in 1993/94 and 1995/96 , but returned immediately as the second division champion. When the club withdrew from the league in the middle of the 1997/98 season for financial reasons, he moved to TV Angermund in January 1998 , where he stayed until the end of the season. In the summer of 1998 he returned to the Bundesliga and signed with LTV Wuppertal . After he had to relegate again in 2000/01 , he went to the second division HSV Düsseldorf , with whom he was promoted to the upper house in 2003/04 . In 2006/07 he was relegated for the fourth time. He then came back to his hometown club, which played in the 3rd division and was coached by his brother, in Rheinhausen and ended his career there in 2012.
