Achim Schürmann (born January 29, 1974 in Rheinhausen ) is a German handball trainer and former handball player .
Career
Achim Schürmann first played for his home club OSC Rheinhausen . After the OSC was relegated from the handball Bundesliga in 1994 , he moved to TBV Lemgo . With the TBV, the 1.97-meter-tall racer became German champion in 1997 and 2003 and won the DHB Cup in 1995 , 1997 and 2002 and the European Cup Winners ' Cup in 1996 . He played twelve international matches for the German men's national handball team . In 2003 he ended his career as a player.
2007 Schürmann took over as coach of the OSC Rheinhausen, with whom he in 2010 from the Regional in the 2. Bundesliga rise. In November 2011 he resigned from his position and from 2012 became a coach at the top division TV Aldekerk . After the 2016/17 season, he resigned his coaching position at TV Aldekerk and took over the fourth division club VfB Homberg .
His brother Jörg (* 1976) is also a handball player.
