Jörg Schieb (born November 25, 1964 in Osnabrück ) is a German journalist and author in the field of programming , application software and digitization .

Since the mid-1980s he has been writing books and articles in computer magazines on this topic. Schieb has published over 120 specialist books.

Today he works for the current hour and blogs for WDR. From 2011 to 2014 he was a professional and moderator for ARD Ratgeber: Internet . While sliding initially wanted to explain computer topics in an easily understandable way, today he is mainly concerned with the social consequences and actively promotes debates.

life and career

After graduating from high school in Mönchengladbach , Jörg Schieb began training at Data Becker in 1986 . In the 1980s and 1990s he wrote mostly specialist articles and specialist books, especially on operating systems and application software, in the 1990s for magazines such as Der Spiegel , Stern , test and for newspapers such as Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Handelsblatt .

Since November 1995, Schieb has been a permanent freelancer for the current hour with its own section “Clicked”. Together with Dennis Horn, Jörg Schieb has been producing and hosting the podcast Cosmotech for the radio station COSMO (radio station) since April 2019 . This is mainly about topics, about changes in the digitized world.
