Jörg Walker (* 17th March 1973 as Jörg Dickmann in Olsberg , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German photographer and photo artist .

biography

Jörg Wanderer was born in 1973 as Jörg Dickmann in Olsberg in the Sauerland and grew up in Nuttlar , municipality of Bestwig . After graduating from the August-Macke-Gymnasium in Meschede , he studied social pedagogy at the University of Düsseldorf .

In 2013, Dickmann married and took the name Wanderer . After a five-year transition phase in which he kept Jörg Dickmann as his artist name, he now publishes his photographic work under the name Jörg Wanderer . He lives in Munich .

Works

In cooperation with the Düsseldorf Office for Economic Development, Wanderer documented the structural change in the Rhine port with photographs.

In the course of the construction work for the Wehrhahn Line , which began in Düsseldorf in 2007 , a 26-meter-long panorama of the Rhine from Wanderer photographed the information center on Corneliusplatz , which consists of construction containers . In August 2007, the news magazine Focus reported in an article for the IFA about Wanderer's recording techniques. In 2007, the Munich-based Burda Verlag also used some Düsseldorf photographs for the design of the festival edition “Arts, Fashion, Business” and the premises during the Bambi award ceremony .

After his first photo trip to the United States, the French company YellowKorner discovered Wanderer's recordings, hired him as a freelancer in 2009 and has since sold his work in 90 galleries worldwide. In November 2009 the specialist magazine Photographie published a series of photos of his New York recordings, which were also published by Spiegel Online.

His photo trips took him in 2016 a. a. also to Israel, whose landscapes and cities he photographed for a photo gallery in Tel Aviv .

Shaped by the Düsseldorf Photo School , Jörg Wanderer combines elements of New Objectivity and Pictorialism with the means of digital photography and modern image processing and thus develops his individual visual language.
