Jörg Wutzl (born October 4, 1989 in Hartberg ) is an Austrian beach volleyball player .

Career

In 2006, Wutzl finished fifth with Jörg Haidbauer at his first international tournament, the U18 European Championship in Bratislava . The following year, the two were ninth at the World Youth Championship in Mysłowice . At the Junior World Championships in the same year he competed with Sebastian Schweighofer. In 2008 he was fifth with Thomas Zass at the U20 European Championship in San Salvo . In the same year he played the tournament in Brighton with Alexander Berger and in 2009 in Blackpool with Robin Seidl . He also came with Martin Streitfellner to the 13th of the U23 European Championship 2009 in Jantarny .

From 2010 he formed a permanent duo with Michael Leeb , who had already been his partner at the Grand Slam in Klagenfurt the previous year . Wutzl / Leeb completed various open tournaments and came ninth at the U23 European Championship 2010 in Kos . In 2012 Daniel Müllner became Wutzl's new partner. At the European Championships in Scheveningen , the Austrians reached the first main round as third in the group, but then had to admit defeat to the later finalists Boersma / Spjikers from the Netherlands. At the Grand Slam in Rome, Wutzl / Müllner qualified for the main competition and surprisingly beat China's number one Xu / Wu. In 2013 he was able to achieve 17th place with Daniel Müllner at the World Championships in Stare Jabłonki (POL) .

In the first season together he was able to celebrate his first national championship title with Simon Frühbauer .
