Jewish cemetery (Crainfeld)
The Jewish cemetery Crainfeld is a Jewish cemetery in Crainfeld , a district of the municipality of Grebenhain in Vogelsbergkreis ( Hesse ). The cemetery is a protected cultural monument and is located north of the village above the road to Bannerod .
history
The cemetery of the Jewish community of Crainfeld was probably laid out at the beginning of the 19th century and expanded in 1858. The oldest grave inscription is from 1820. In the 16.41 ares large cemetery there are still about 75 tombstones ( mazewot ). The last burial took place in 1937.
