Jewish cemetery (Laufenselden)
The Jewish cemetery of Laufenselden in Laufenselden , a district of Heidenrod in the Rheingau-Taunus district , covers an area of 76.17 acres.
history
The cemetery was laid out in the 18th century. It also served as a burial place for the Jewish communities of Holzhausen and Kemel . In 1762 the Jewish communities formed a Chewra Kadisha (burial brotherhood). The cemetery was destroyed during the National Socialist era . There are still around 60 to 90 tombstones. Outside the area, which is enclosed with a wooden fence, there are around 15 other gravestones. The oldest surviving tombstone dates from 1816.

The cemetery is located east of the village in a wooded area at the fork of Schmiedweg and Mühlhecke behind some residential buildings, a hidden sign shows its location. The key to the cemetery grounds can be obtained from the Heidenrod municipal administration, Rathausstr. 9, 65321 Heidenrod can be picked up.
