history
In 1662 the Jews in Schlettstadt and the surrounding area were given a grass and tree garden as a cemetery by the City Council of Schlettstadt. According to an entry in a council report from 1654, there was a Jewish burial place on the property as early as the early 1920s. The oldest preserved tombstones ( Mazewot ) are from the years 1699 to 1714. The cemetery is still occupied today.
