Jewish cemetery (Saverne)

The Jewish cemetery in Saverne , a French commune in the Bas-Rhin department of the Grand Est region , was probably laid out in the 17th century. The Jewish cemetery is on Rue du Haut Barr, about 500 meters outside the old town in a south-westerly direction.

By 1632 at the latest, a Jewish cemetery was established in Saverne together with the surrounding communities. In 1651 the cemetery was surrounded by a hedge. It was last enlarged in 1962. The cemetery is still occupied today.
